British Sparkling Wine producers scooping up more Gold medals than Champagne

With the Prosecco boom still in full flow it can be hard for other sparkling wines to get a look in at the moment. But at this year’s Sommelier Wine Awards British Sparkling Wine producers have scooped up more Gold medals than Champagne and have continued their success in showing what great wine England is producing right now.

Producers like Harrow and Hope, Henners and Langham to name a few that picked up multiple awards including a Gold each have done extremely well. In total England picked up five gold medals for Sparkling white wines and two for Sparkling Rosé.

The continued success for English Wine Producers is great and as many look to venture into exporting throughout the world now is the time to buy. The variation and lighter styles of English Sparkling wine is fantastic. Some made with classic Champagne style blends of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Whilst Producers like Three Choirs making the best of Seyval Blanc, they also picked up a gold medal for their Classic Cuvée.
